Before you begin
- One loaded instrument channel.
- Channel EQ and Reverb are available in Free Demo. Stage/Pro is needed only if you change the rack order.
1. Make a controlled EQ change
- Tap + Audio FX to add a channel effect.
- Select an EQ band using its icon.
- Tap Analyzer to inspect the spectrum.
Keep the original rig saved. Use small changes and compare at similar volume.
- Select the piano channel, open FX > Audio FX and add Channel EQ.
- Double-tap the Channel EQ card, select its high-pass band and enable it.
- Raise Frequency gently to remove unwanted low rumble. Select a parametric band for a small broad cut if the sound is still muddy.
- Bypass/re-enable the EQ and compare. Keep Output Gain near neutral until the tonal change is useful.
2. Add a useful room
- Adjust Size to change the room feel.
- Drag Wet to blend in more reverb.
Dry preserves the original piano; Wet adds the tail. A long tail at high Wet can obscure chord changes.
- Return to the rack and add Reverb.
- Leave Dry present, begin with low Wet, and choose Size for the room you want.
- Play a short chord and release it to hear the tail. Raise Lo-cut if it crowds the low end.
- Compare with bypass and lower Wet if the piano attack loses clarity.
3. Save the result
- Tap Save to add this setup to your preset library.
Your full rig preset stores its processing settings. Independently saving an FX preset requires Pro.
- On Stage/Pro, inspect rack order if you want the EQ to feed the reverb or process its tail.
- Save As a new rig preset, such as Sunday Piano Room.
- Recall the saved version and repeat the same short phrase to check both tone and tail.
Expected result
What you should have now
The piano has a clearer low end and an audible reverb tail while its attack remains present; the saved rig restores both effects.
Common problems
- EQ does nothing
- Enable the selected band as well as the effect itself.
- Reverb is muddy
- Reduce Wet, raise Lo-cut and check for another reverb on the routed bus.
- Reordering is locked
- That action requires Stage or Pro; adding the Free Demo effects does not.
