Before you begin
- The library files for your intended instruments are ready.
- Enough channels available in your current plan: 4 / 8 / 16 for Free Demo / Player / Stage and Pro.
Choosing and replacing sounds
- Choose K Felt Upright from the instrument list.
Tap an empty channel’s instrument area to open the picker. Select a category, then a sound included in your plan. Wait for its bank to finish loading before playing. Replacing a channel’s instrument changes that channel; review its existing attributes and FX afterwards.
Factory instruments, built-in Synth presets, Sampler and imported SoundFonts are different sources. Built-in synth presets require Player; editing synth controls and importing sampler audio or SF2 libraries require Pro.
Build an overlapping layer
- Tap Edit Layers before changing note ranges.
- Read each colored bar for its layer's playable note range.
Channels accepting the same note play together. For a Free Demo example, choose K Felt Upright on one channel and Choir Pad on another. Lower the pad level and give it a softer attack or longer release if the selected sound supports envelope editing.
- Select an empty channel and choose K Felt Upright.
- Choose Choir Pad on a second channel. Leave both ranges overlapping in Layers.
- Play a chord and balance the second fader below the piano.
- Mute one channel at a time to check the contribution of each instrument; clear Mute/Solo afterwards.
- Save As a named preset before making another version.
Create a split range
- Use Learn Key under Low Key, then play the note; repeat for High Key if needed.
Low Key and High Key are inclusive. A split at MIDI 60 should use High Key 59 for the lower sound and Low Key 60 for the upper sound; setting both to 60 makes that note trigger both channels.
Select a channel, open Attributes > Input, and use the Low Key/High Key steppers. Scroll the horizontal card row to reveal a control that is offscreen.
Learn Key can set a boundary from an incoming MIDI note when a real controller is connected. Manual steppers work without external hardware.
- Set the lower channel’s High Key to MIDI 59 (B3).
- Set the upper channel’s Low Key to MIDI 60 (C4).
- Play notes on both sides and the two boundary notes, then save the split.
Keep layers easy to identify
- Tap the instrument card's arrow to choose another source.
- Tap the Name field to name the selected channel.
In Attributes > Settings, give each channel a short Name and Color. Voice Limit controls available polyphony; a monophonic synth lead is shown as MONO. Delete removes the channel and clears its settings, so save a copy before rebuilding a sound.

What you should have now
You can select plan-compatible instruments, balance two layers, and make an unambiguous keyboard split.
Common problems
- Both sounds play at the boundary
- Low and High keys are inclusive. Put the lower High Key one semitone below the upper Low Key.
- A new channel is unavailable
- You may have reached the plan’s channel limit.
- Notes disappear in dense chords
- Check voice limits, sustain and how many layers share the same range.
