Before you begin
- Select an instrument channel before opening Attributes.
- Stage is needed to save custom velocity presets; MIDI calibration needs incoming velocity messages from a real controller.
Attributes > Settings
- Tap the instrument card's arrow to choose another source.
- Tap the Name field to name the selected channel.
The Settings tab edits the selected channel rather than global app settings. Scroll the horizontal card row to reach additional cards.
- Instrument / Name / Color
- Replace the instrument, label the channel and choose its identifying color.
- Sampler Gain / Pan
- Gain trims playback level before the mix fader; Pan sets its stereo position.
- Voice Limit
- Sets polyphony for the channel. Monophonic synth leads show MONO instead of a normal voice count.
- ADSR / Envelope
- Enables amplitude shaping for non-synth instruments and opens Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release.
- Ignore Sustain Pedal
- Keeps this channel from responding to sustain while other layers still do.
- Ignore Mod Wheel / Ignore Pitch Bend
- Excludes the channel from those incoming performance controllers.
- Delete channel
- Removes the channel and all its settings after confirmation.
Attributes > Input
- Use Learn Key under Low Key, then play the note; repeat for High Key if needed.
Transpose shifts a channel’s played notes in semitones; Octave groups the change in steps of twelve. The ordinary input transpose range is wider than the dedicated installed Transposer’s range. The allowed limits update in the UI.
Low Key and High Key restrict the accepted note range; changes stop held notes to avoid stuck notes. MIDI Input can accept Any device or a selected source. An empty source selection accepts no controller device.
- Transpose / Octave
- Changes played note pitch. Watch the displayed combined transposition.
- Low Key / High Key
- Inclusive MIDI note bounds; Learn Key waits for a note or can be cancelled.
- MIDI Input
- Any device accepts available sources; selecting sources filters which devices feed the channel.
Attributes > Velocity
- Choose a velocity response from the Linear menu.
- Open Calibration when you can test a real controller.
The velocity curve maps incoming touch strength to the instrument’s response. Choose a profile, compare soft and hard playing, and adjust the curve for the controller and sound. Calibration captures several playing strengths to establish the response anchors.
Reset returns the calibration/curve controls to their baseline. Save Preset stores a named velocity response on Stage or Pro. This is distinct from saving the entire instrument preset.
- Open Velocity for the selected channel and choose a starting profile.
- With a real MIDI keyboard connected, play deliberately soft, normal and hard notes while comparing the response.
- Use Calibration and follow the on-screen strength prompts if the keyboard response needs adjustment.
- Save a velocity preset on Stage or Pro, or save the current rig so its channel settings are retained.

What you should have now
Each channel has a clear identity, intended note range and controller response.
Common problems
- A layer ignores the pedal
- Check Ignore Sustain Pedal on that channel.
- Only one device plays a sound
- Review MIDI Input source selections.
- Calibration captures nothing
- It needs actual note-on velocity messages. Check the MIDI monitor and controller connection.
